Bio

Drew is a civil trial lawyer and associate at Thorsnes Bartolotta McGuire, LLP. He starts each case the same, by getting to know the client, and when applicable, their business. Doing so allows him to better understand not only the dispute at hand, but more importantly, the client’s litigation objectives. A deep appreciation for what the client wants, and why, is the critical first step to delivering it. From there, Drew is able to lay out an effective plan of action to achieve his clients’ legal needs, whether it be complex real estate issues or harrowing multiparty business disputes that require the presence of a deft and knowledgeable attorney.

He has experience across a wide legal spectrum, including eminent domain, wrongful death, CEQA, elder abuse, commercial lease disputes, personal injury, quiet title, adversarial bankruptcy proceedings, federal class actions, and a host of contract issues among other things. With over a decade of wide-ranging experience, he is well-positioned to anticipate the controlling issue and opposition thereto and prepare his strategy accordingly.

After completing his undergraduate studies in 2009 from The Pennsylvania State University, and graduating with a BA in English, he enrolled at the Duquesne University Thomas R. Kline School of Law in Pittsburgh and received his Juris Doctor in 2012. During his time at law school, Drew participated in the Bill of Rights Clinic where he garnered federal court experience, litigating constitutional claims for which he was awarded a certificate of distinction in clinical work. He also gained exposure to the workings of the criminal justice system as a judicial intern, while volunteering at a pro se family law clinic.

Drew was licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania in 2012 upon graduating from law school and was brought on as an associate at the firm where he clerked throughout his last year. One trip to Big Sur, many late nights studying for the CA bar after work, and two years later, Drew received his license to practice law in California and realized a dream. Growing up in rural Western Pennsylvania, Drew forged a lifelong connection with the natural world. Upon moving to San Diego in 2015, he found that connection again, this time in the Pacific Ocean. When Drew is not surfing or scouting for waves in Baja, he enjoys summiting California’s peaks and the occasionally lazy weekend with a few cups of coffee at his home with his wife and two dogs.
