Peter Tarantino and Darbi Davidson recently spoke with Juris Education regarding their personal journey to becoming attorneys. They provided expert insights into the law admissions process for the next generation of aspiring lawyers.
Tarantino’s motivation for becoming a lawyer began after "the summer after my senior year of high school, I read a book about the Scopes trial and took a trip to Tennessee to do research into my ancestor’s murder.” Davidson's motivation for becoming a lawyer began “During the pandemic, I felt inspired to pursue a career change. Becoming a lawyer had always been a dream of mine, so I decided to use the time at home to study for the LSAT.”
As Tarantino recalled his journey as a law student, he said "I think my statement stood out because it walked the fine line between connecting my personal journey with the overarching journey of the law." Davidson mentioned, “Submitting your application earlier in the admissions window can be a significant advantage.” Students looking for suitable experience for law school should take note of this.
Since AI is making a splash in many industries, Tarantino also talked about AI’s role in law. He believes that privacy law and AI are emerging fields of law and he recommends that students start thinking about them if they want to future-proof themselves in the industry.
